The Eastern Hercules Beetle (Dynastes tityus) is a  rhinoceros beetle indigenous to the Eastern and Southeastern United States. Its males potentially reaches lengths of up to 7 inches (17 cm) including their horns, and for the horn-like structures present on the males, used primarily in battles over territory and mates. The coloration of this beetle is generally a vibrant green, overlaid with patterns of blacks, browns, or yellows, rendering it one of the more visually stunning beetles. The adult beetles primarily feed on fruit or beetle jelly, and the larvae consume flake soil.
